Who would have thought at the beginning of the football season that four English teams would be in the two European finals? Arsenal and Chelsea face each other in the Europa League final that takes place in Baku, Azerbaijan on the 29th May 2019. In the other final on the 1st June 2019, Liverpool takes on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final in Madrid in Spain.
With these four star clubs all vying for the two pieces of silverware up for grabs, there is a lot to be said for the teams that have already shown they are a cut above the rest in Europe. It got us thinking, what would happen if Basis Training’s four star performers were competing against each other, who would come out on top?
Our Top Four Championship Finalists
So, who is top of the league with our four finalists? Here is the rundown;
Aggression and Conflict Management
During a championship final like the Europa or Champions League, we’ll bet the teams in the football finals will need this training course. Emotions can run high, and tensions can increase, which can pave the way for aggressive behaviour. Our conflict management course is a fantastic all-rounder suitable for all employees. Almost anyone can encounter conflict in the workplace, and this course is an excellent way to equip staff with the conflict management tools that they need to succeed.
Breakaway, Self Escape and Self Defence
While footballers on the pitch will be hoping to breakaway from their marker and go onto success. Our breakaway classes focus on getting out of difficult situations. While the footballers rely on their quick feet and muscle top shake off the opponent, our breakaway training provides candidates with the techniques they need to escape from difficult situations without physical strength.
“It is never easy to use physical techniques in a difficult situation, but sometimes it is the only safe way to protect yourself and colleagues. Our trainers make sure that candidates are equipped with all the knowledge of creating a defensive body position and developing intervention techniques for fights.” – John Davies, Director of Basis Training
Control and Restraint with Safe Holding
While the teams will be booked for using shirt pulling for control and restraint of the opposite side, sometimes restraint can be the last resort that employees need to use in extremely dangerous situations. Candidates on this course will be taught how to legally and safely hold someone down in a way that minimises the risk of injury to both individuals.
“Typically, this course is ideal for those in high-risk work environments. Most course attendees are mental health workers, security workers and staff from the NHS. We are proud that our training has been recognised with a Quality Award Centre Status from the Institute of Conflict Management, thanks to our safe, responsible and thorough teaching methods.” – Nick Attard, Director of Basis Training
PMVA – Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression
From communication techniques to hands-on approaches, this comprehensive course covers everything that staff members need to feel confident in their workplace and ensure that they have the right techniques available for all kinds of conflict situations from non-aggressive to highly aggressive techniques. It isn’t showing someone the red card, but much more effective at keeping you safe.
