Spring Forward With Your Training Plans

As the clocks going forward indicate the start of springtime – where has the year gone already? We know for a lot of busy businesses the months fly by, and by the time December rolls around, it’s been another year without any training for your team. So, as you adjust your body clock to the hour forward and start enjoying the lighter evenings that come with spring, is it time you planned staff training before it is too late?

When is the best time for training?

For businesses of any sizes, planning training is never easy. Most companies want to avoid busy periods as well as the summer when many workers jet off on their holidays. So, when is the best time for training?

We think the spring months are ideal for booking training. It is before the summer holidays begin and is after winter when many people are struck down with illness and can’t attend training. What’s more, it is before the run-up to the end of the year which is often a busy period for businesses.

At Basis Training, we are seeing an increase in the uptake of staff training as we spring forward. We have been busy all across the UK offering training PMVA training in London to weapon disarming courses in Manchester.

What training do your staff need?

In the wake of the recent news stories about the tragic stabbings and shooting across the UK, we are seeing an increase in enquiries and booking for weapon disarming training as well as courses for the prevention and management of violence and aggression (PMVA). In the UK in 2017-2018 285 people died by being stabbed to death. This equates to two in every five killings in the UK.

However, despite the increase in stabbings in the UK, most of the violent attacks in England and Wales do not involve a weapon at all. 79% of violent incidents do not include a weapon. Instead, they are though punching, kicking, hitting and hurting someone during a fight.

With this in mind, it is not only important for your frontline employees to be able to protect themselves by disarming weapons but to prevent physical violence through self-defence and breakaway techniques.

Basis Training is here to help you with all forms of training from Breakaway Self Defence to Aggression Management. Get your team sorted for spring and give your frontline workers the confidence they need to do their jobs with pride. Get in touch to discover the most suitable training for your needs.
