While romance may be in the air throughout the month of February, we’re more interested in self-care, and, most importantly, self-defence. We want to make sure that every individual has the skills and knowledge they need to look after themselves should anything go wrong. What’s more, we’re delighted to work with more organisations and individuals to ensure as many people as possible have the techniques and confidence to diffuse threatening situations while protecting themselves and keeping others from danger.
We’ll be reaching lots of people this month with our personal safety training, here’s a quick rundown of what we’re up to;
The Language Of Love And Self-Defence Is Universal
In this loved-up month, they say that the language of love is universal. However, so is personal safety. This is why Basis Training offers a range of personal safety courses all over the world, for a variety of different organisations and students. This month, we’re helping schools in Spain to help train their staff in personal safety and restraint training.
Wherever you are in the world, knowing how to safely remove yourself from a threatening situation is vital. What’s more, learning these tactics is universal, and you can apply them regardless of the country you are.
As well as schools in Spain, Basis Training are in talks with organisations across Europe as part of our project to increase personal safety and equip as many people as possible who could encounter threatening and violent situations.
Sadly, violence towards healthcare professionals continues to rise. This month we’re helping healthcare professionals to equip themselves against this worrying trend with weapons disarming courses. Our Weapons Disarming Training Course is two-days long and covers aspects such as removing yourself safely from the situation to trying to disarm an assailant if other options have failed.
